culled from all over (but quite a few from wcg)

Republicans on why Democrats should win this November. I've been saying this for years! I've never understood why intelligent conservatives support this White House. It's long, but well worth the read.

The I, Claudius drinking game. thisgirliknow, I think this is right up your alley. (not to mention a few other people I know)

Would you be alive today without modern medicine? I would be, but maybe with a crutch for my would-be-missing-leg.

Especially for wildpersimmons: That article you had me read was, at least partly, a work of fiction

Just one way in which America and Australia are not the same. Reminds me of the story a few years ago when a burglar broke into the Canadian Prime Minister's house, and Chretien had to fight the guy off himself.

And in Cricket news, you can't be racist. Except to the Poms! (I'd also tell you about the big row between Pakistan and... well, the umpires more than England over ball tampering, but I doubt any of you really care.)

A couple tests:

Mathematician

You scored 72 out of 100 possible points

Congratulations. You've probably had more math than 99% of the world. Now, go out and (choose one or several): get some sun, get a date, go dancing, etc...

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 99% on ToughMathIQ

and

Language Savvy

You scored a 240 out of 400 on language knowledge.

Congratulations! You know your stuff! You've scored higher than most people would and you probably have taken a linguistics or cultural science class to boot. Most likely you are bilingual or even multilingual. You are also probably fascinated by languages and want to learn more of them in the future. When you travel to a foreign country, you make a point to learn some of the language instead of imposing your own. It's people like you who help promote the exchange of languages worldwide. Keep it up!

Oh, and the Tigers are in the playoffs for the first time since I was 4. Wow, does it feel good to say that... :)

yeah, i found that out from the same source I got the initial article. I think the whole thing makes Perelman's hermitage all the more reasonable. I'd want nothing to do with any of them either.

Ok, I think I'm basically free Wednesday (studying/homework and such but no time constraints.) Lunch somewhere, around 1? We'll have a formal tete a tete with an exchange of gifts and everything! ;)

Re: props

Feel free! I don't have any friend's only posts, or at least, the ones I do are there because it's a specific message to specific friends. But yes, peruse, devour, do what you will. As you can see I don't post very often, and I doubt that'll change anytime soon. But don't let that stop you. :)

Just out of curiousity, though, how did you stumble upon my journal?

Re: props

on the last entry on [Unknown LJ tag], you had mentioned your city and age, along with quite an interesting description of the picture. curiosity bit me (I'm always looking for interesting people in my city and age group), and I went to sniff you out. so, that's my story.

. . . and now I will add you. Cheers!

Re: props

Well! If writing gets girls interested in me... maybe I should do it more! ;p

I'm glad you liked it! So why didn't you write anything, eh?

...and I think I'll reciprocate. :)

Re: props

I didn't feel like writing one . . .

I wouldn't know about girls being interested in you for writing . . . I just consider this my own curiosity.

thanks for reciprocating. :-)

Re: props

Yeah, I know. I was just being silly. I'm actually being mildly pressured by a friend of mine to write, because she thinks I'd be good at it. That's why it was on my mind :)

Re: props

then, by all means, WRITE! and I want to see the results. :-)

for me, not writing is like holding my breath. figure THAT one out.
