So, I was in a comment with a friend earlier tonight, when she used a (relative) neologism in a way that I really wouldn't have. So, I'm going to go ahead and use my new-fangled plus account to create a poll and see what you all have to say. (This started out as just one question. Then I realized I wanted to see the statistics behind it. Sorry. :) )

I think I've used "convo" about a real-life coversation once, but I don't really like using it at all.
Politically English isn't my native language, but realistically it is.

Thanks! :)
Again, I'm curious, what "should" it be, politically?

you have an overwhelming number of women reading your journal. that's interesting.

Actually, that's roughly the stats on LJ in general, and it's a little bit more extreme in linguaphile. But yeah, the ladies have always had special places in their hearts for me. ;)

Also, you should have realized that I don't post nearly often enough to get that many regular readers.

*waves* Here from linguaphiles. Most of my answers are pretty straightforward. However, I do speak French (language the second) with another native English speaker online, mostly so she can practise her French. I'll also find myself speaking French (and Spanish) to other people occasionally because it just leaks out.

I've been thinking about this all day and I'm still not sure how to take the fact that my use of the term "convo" upset you enough to take a poll...

Are you trying to prove a point, or just find out how others see it...

(Last night's bad mood is still with me...)
somebodyelse From: somebodyelse Date: September 18th, 2006 03:49 am (UTC) (Link)
Just find out how others see it. It should be noted that your usage (just barely) wins out. Congrats. ;)

and *hug*
